New incentives for employment of foreigners in Serbia

If you are a foreigner in Serbia, you can apply for the incentives for the employment period from the 1st of July 2022 until the end of 2028.
The regulation refers to all companies that are registered to perform activities on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, that already employ or intend to employ foreign nationals, and have all the conditions for exercising the right to incentives. You can apply for the incentives for the employment period from the 1st of July 2022 until the end of 2028.
How to apply?
The application for the incentive is submitted annually to the Ministry of Economy, between September 15th and 30th every year, for the previous year. The application must contain data about the employee, the employer’s business data, and a salary calculation showing 70% of the calculated and paid tax and 100% of the calculated and paid Pension insurance, as well as the amount of the incentive for which the refund is requested following the calculation.
Along with the application, it is necessary to attach a written statement of the employed newly settled person which confirms, that in 24 months preceding the day of concluding the employment contract with the employer, they did not stay on the territory of the Republic of Serbia for more than 180 days. Also employment period is until the end of 2023.
An additional condition for the incentive is the defined minimum amount of the newly settled person’s net salary, which amounts to at least RSD 300,000, and dividends payout. Also, you cant downsize the number of employees on a permanent agreement.
The Ministry of Finance decides on the incentives 120 days from the application submission deadline.
