What categories of foreign citizens exist?

1. Founder of a legal entity in Serbia;

2. Individuals who invest in an already registered legal entity in Serbia;

3. Individuals who have professional qualifications issued by the competent authorities of the Republic of Serbia.

How long does a temporary residence permit last?

• A temporary residence permit would be issued for 6 months to 1 year.
• The temporary residence permit can be extended for another 1 year if the legal conditions allow it.

What documentation is necessary for temporary residents?

A foreign citizen is obliged to submit to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia, in addition to the documents stipulated by the Law on Foreigners, a passport, proof of financial ability, registration of residence in the Republic of Serbia, proof of health, etc.:

1. In the case of starting a company, a document confirming that the company’s activity is recognized as an innovative activity;

2. In the case of investment, a certificate of ownership of funds in a non-resident bank account registered in the Republic of Serbia in the minimum amount of at least EUR 50,00 per day;

3. Regarding professional qualifications, the decision on professional recognition of a higher education diploma.
